MISSIONS-CADRES’ news

In brief

Jobseekers: changes in the unemployment benefit period!
The decree of 27th March 2009 modifies the length of time unemployed people can receive benefit.

From now on, for jobseekers under 50 years old, this period is between 4 and 24 months (730 days maximum). This is calculated based on the length of activity during the preceding 28 months.

Jobseekers over the age of 50 will receive benefit for a period that is equal to the length of their activity over the last three years, i.e. between 4 and 36 months.

The text will come into force with the publication of the Journal Officiel containing the order of the new unemployment benefit agreement 2009/2010.

GMP – what is it?

GMP (Garantie Minimale de Points) enables all full-time high-level employees to gain, regardless of their salary, at least 120 points per year towards the Agirc (complementary retirement) system.

In practice, this guarantee only applies to high-level employees whose salary is lower than or slightly above the Social Security threshold. The salary below which the employee benefits from this GMP is called a “hinge salary”.

In the event of part-time work, this GMP contribution is on a pro-rata basis.
